What’s not to love about backyard weddings? They are so intimate and convenient and most times, is a special place to the couple. There is something so sweet about sharing your home with friends and family to celebrate a significant day. However, sometimes there is a negative stereotype that hosting a wedding in your backyard might be overly casual or have very laid-back vibes. The Peeple’s wedding was not your average backyard wedding.
Backyard weddings have grown in popularity in an era of social distancing and micro weddings. There are lots of reasons why you might choose to have a wedding in your backyard. You are able to choose any date, little to no venue costs, limited rules to follow, and you are able to control the size of your crowd.
Great things to include when hosting your wedding in your own backyard are things like: banquet tables, lounges, an outside bar, and illuminating the night with string lights. Chanda and Asa had a beautiful “venue” by adding these elements to their day. One thing to also consider is the mood you are wanting to create. You will notice this wedding was laid-back but also classy. They created an extremely fun atmosphere with yard games and food trucks; while keeping a classy vibe with beautiful florals as decor among the entire space and a fancy dance floor setup.
If you are debating using your backyard space as a wedding venue — this is your sign to do it. It might just end up being the best party you’ve ever been to.
