On the blog today we are so excited to be sharing a wedding feature on one of our brides - the lovely Kiersten! Kiersten and her now husband Matt’s wedding day was so full of life and beautiful details, that we knew immediately that we wanted to share their big day with you all. Each couple’s wedding day is a unique reflection of their personalities and values, and so we wanted you all to hear directly from Kiersten about their wedding day. From how her and Matt met, to her favorite wedding moment, keep scrolling to experience Kiersten + Matt’s Urban Bohemian Wedding at The Turnbull!
“Matt and I met two and a half years ago on a University led trip to Ukraine and Poland. We had never seen each other before (which is pretty weird since we were in the same department), but we hit it off immediately on the trip. By the end of that summer, we were dating! He moved to Texas that same summer, so we dated long distance for two years. Both of us are huge dreamers, concert goers, and extroverts. We love exploring cities, new restaurants, and hanging with our pals.”
“In mid February, Matt led me to Coolidge park during one of his trips to visit me. We took a long walk all the way down to Manufactures Park, where the bridge had candles all over it, and a box in the middle of the bridge. He led me to the box and read a beautiful letter to me. When he got on his knee and I said yes, a huge eruption of cheering came from our families and friends who all watched from the bottom of the bridge! There were so many people who drove from all over, it was so special.”
“I would say the most important detail fro us was definitely the venue. We were looking for something urban but warm. The Turnbull was the perfect industrial look we wanted. I wanted it to have a bohemian feel to it but also modern and super fun! We had confetti canons spread throughout the audience that went off right after we were announced husband and wife. We also did a version of the ‘shoe game’ but instead of shoes, we had huge cardboard cut outs of our heads for us and the bridal party to play with us.”
“The confetti cannons going off was definitely the best party of the day. And our first look was precious (check it out in our wedding video)!”
“Your wedding day will be a dream no matter what small details go wrong. Don’t waste too much time stressing over the seating chart, perfect tablecloths, or the exact way the center pieces look. You won’t remember any of that. Just have fun planning it and let it fall into place!”
